Saza

Tonight (Tuesday), Jonathan and I were among a few lucky people to be invited to attend Saza's VIP Party preceding their grand opening. The restaurant is owned by Joe DiMaggio Jr. and is located in downtown Newnan across from the paper. It is supposed to open on May 12 — my birthday, in case you forgot from my last blog post.

We partook of a free, 15-course sampler meal and free drinks. The building had been transformed from the previous business, and Jonathan and I really had a great time together.

I highly recommend you check this restaurant out if you're in the area. They're going to be open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner.

Here are a few pics from our evening:

(Filet mignon with port and red currant reduction— one of our faves!)

Because this was just too impressive, I have to tell what the 15 course menu consisted of:
1. Grandma's Eggplant
2. Tuna Bruschetta
3. Saza Pizza Trio
4. Hudson Valley Duck Proscuitto
5. Tuna Crudo & Green Apple Prima Donna Salad
6. Five Spiced Duck Confit Canapes
7. Polenta w/ Wild Mushroom Demi Glace
8. Chilled Cracked Pepper Filet Mignon
9. Rigatoni Bolognaise
10. Saza Stuffed Peppers
11. Seven Grain Scottish Salmon
12. Sous Vide Beef Short Rib
13. Penne w/ Ricotta Sweet Sausage Sauce
14. Seared Miso Sea Scallops
15. Dessert Trio: Mini Cannoli, Almond Tiramisu, Brandy Infused Truffles
